Ferrari 458 Italia

The Ferrari 458 is an Italian sports car designed by Pininfarina and produced by Italian automaker Ferrari since 2010 as a replacement for the Ferrari F430. It was revealed to the press on 28 July 2009 and presented at the Frankfurt Motor Show 2009.

Features

This is a two seats car with an 8 cylinder engine and a design largely benefited from the company's experience in Formula 1. Despite being billed as the replacement for the F430 and have some similarities in design, as claimed by Ferrari in the press release, is a completely new car from a technical standpoint.

Engine

The V8 4.5 liter (4499 cc) disburses 570 hp (419 kW) at 9000 rpm and yields a peak torque of 540 Nm at 6000 rpm, with 80% of it available at 3250 rpm. The engine has direct fuel injection for the first time in a Ferrari mid-engine configuration.

Transmission

The transmission is a Getrag dual-clutch semi-automatic 7-speed F1, similar to that of the Ferrari California, which can operate in either manual or automatic.

Management

The car suspension is double A-arm front and multilink system in back, along with electronic differential and traction control also known as Formula 1 F1-Trac [1], designed to improve cornering performance and longitudinal acceleration by 32% compared to its predecessors.

The brakes are a function of preload that reduces delays in its implementation. This, along with ABS has reduced the braking distance of 458 Italy 100 to 0 km / ha 32.5 meters.

Performance

The official acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h is 3.4 seconds while top speed is 325 km / h, with fuel consumption of 13.7 l/100 km combined cycle and 320g/km production CO 2.

Design

The 458 Italy was designed by Pininfarina, as the latest models of Ferrari. The style and characteristics of the car were designed for aerodynamic efficiency, producing a load of 140 kg to 200 km / h. The 458's interior has been designed using input from former Ferrari driver Michael Schumacher in Formula 1, including a new steering wheel that incorporates many of the features and controls facing the driver and not on the board, similar to race cars.

According to Autocar, the 458 was inspired by the Ferrari Enzo and its concept car Mille Chile concept car is designed to be the sportier model with a V8 Ferrari to be distinguished from the Ferrari California launched recently.
